Gar Pike Fishing on a Fly

found this in my travels might intrest some of you fly anglers but other than that a nice fish:popcorn:

not gar pike just gar
and i see those down here all the time i catch them on sunny chunks but we usually get shortnoses intead of the long nose shown in the pic above

Thats garpike are just another name for gar.]

they are decent fighters
 
We call large gar "Ohio River Marlin" as they jump and tail walk like marlin do!

Actually fly fishing for gar is one of the best and easiest ways to catch them and I cant wait for this dang weather to straighten out so I can go fishing for them!!!!

this weather is killing me too! i cant wait to get the fly rod out and go after them!
 
where would b the closest place where i can catch gar?
i live in IL like 45-60 min from chicago
r there anyspots in wisconsin for gar?
cuz i would love to fly fish for some
