how much width should i have for longnose their still small and in 40 gallon breeder tank i am deabating on an indoor or outdoor pond. would a wooden frame one be stronger than the portable pools?

from what i understand and have seen they get longer then floridas and less bulky.. I plan on a 3' -4' deep pond in the future to house my pack includeing 3 LNGs. i def wouldn't go narrower then 30" in the wild they get pretty respectable sized.
