i have a pair of gar which at the time of purchase were of same size but after a month one of then has grown and other remain at the initial size why is this so both are healthy
 
If the larger one is faster or dominant and eats more food then the other, it will develop faster. Try to 'target feed' so that both get food.
 
some grow faster than others. also depends on the amount of food.

yes the larger one eats more but food is supplied to both
 
it's not a problem just keep an eye out for (thou unlikely) excessive bullying
