gar question

i want a fish that gets no larger than 15 inches that actually swims around and has some color to it unlike bichirs...although they are kinda cool that can get along with a 10" gar

Yup. Florida will hit 2' when adult.

because i want to keep it in the 125 even when i upgrade the gar...now back to my question..

You can consider birchers, tiger, Oscar,... main thing to note is the gars do not like silvery tank mates.

Edited my previous post as I forgot about the 15" limit. Some catfish yes but a lot grows way over the 15" mark. You should check up the varieties available to you in the catfish forum or you can go planetcatfish.com to check out the sizes for individual species.
