gar sitting at the bottom?

so as u all know i got a new gar and have not seen him eat yet and when i first got him hee was happy and swiming at the top bottom its been about 24 hours and he has been sitting at the bottom just chillin and help? looks like he needs a red bull or monster

You're all good... sometimes they can be lazy as hell and just sit around posted like a stamp.

Gars just like to hang out all over the tank, you have to remember they are ambush predators so it pays off to conserve your energy for the fast pounce. Most likely your going to need to offer your gar live feeder fish to entice it to eat at first, then later on you can try waving pieces of market shrimp or thawed silversides it front of it to train it to take non live food. I would skip the feeders and go straight to the shrimp. Too much risk involved with store bought feeders...

My Gator Gar chills on the bottom now too. He likes to chill with my RTC and they get along great.
