My gar a couple days ago started swimming more vertically like it has a swim bladder issue. it then will flip around and try to swim normal but its back side just floats up.

ya its swim bladder.
You can get some meds for it but some gars are extremely sensitive to them.
How big is your tank?
What do you feed him?
I hope your gar heals but with swim bladder they usually have no chance.
