Gar Tail Rot - pictures

Here are the pictures. I noticed white patches developing on the tail as well, continuing onto the dorsal fin.
Any ideas on how to treat this?

Looks more like something else in the tank just nipped at him. If you really have a crayfish in the tank I would blame it. They are notorious for shredding fins, I would just trade it in some where or put in a tank by itself. In the end, he'll end a meal somewhere when your fish get bigger (if doesn't kill your fish first). Then again, gar can nip each other, so maybe its the other Florida Gar? Even Gar I've had nips at other ones from time to time.

Thanks - yes, just now while looking at the tank, I noticed one Gar aggressively attacking the others tail.
