Gar tank Q

I no there are alot of these types of threads but i will have a 4x2.5x2.5 179g, i'll have fx5 and a decent internal filter. Was getting opinions of whether i'll be able to house 2x Florida Gars for a while? I am wanting to upgrade to a 6x3x3 in about 2 years.

Your opinions please. Ive seen threads on other sized tanks but not this size.

for 2x FL gars for 2 years the tank you have will do just fine...it would likely last you longer than 2 years as well. good luck!--

Wow really? everyone over here says i'd only be able to use it as a growout tank, although i think they are going off wild max size.

Floridas over here cost $300 min! so im still kinda deciding.

Man, that quite a price. I payed 25 euros for a juvi 6".
But if you wanted to buy mine for 300 now, i'd say no!lol
IMO, you will not regret it, these fish are awesome and got some cool attitude.

captive max size for florida tend to be MAX 24" but obtaining that size is not common by any stretch.
heck for that size tank you could have many gar but at that steep of a price it would be hard to stock. lol.
THey are great fish, hardy and entertaining. I say go for it
