gar trapping

I'm wondering how I could build a trap to hopefully catch a few gar around 6 inches or so. And what bait I should use for this

I don't think it can be done. Gar just don't work like that. Try using some smaller gar lures, like 1/2" and thin, you may get lucky, or you may not. I've been trying to catch gar for 4 years now, and have not been sucessful. One time, I jumped out of the boat and grabbed a big one, and boy was that stupid!

yeah, my ex thought it was funny too, especially when the gar beat the snot out of me!
