I was looking at some pics last night and I did not realize how much my gar have become washed out. Parametors have not changed, and my decorations have barely changed. I changed to a hollowed trunk piece of drift wood,I beleive its ceder and added a boiled cream stout bottle I thought looked old. The gars are darker under my old T5 lights(now t8 and the same spectrum). They also do not swim as much anymore. oh last thing I started using scrubbies from freds in my filters i noticed when cleaning they got lost color. i do not use carbon.

guess I should ask a question, does anyone have any ideas on how to get my gars back to normal?

Or see anything about the changes I should start with first?

Darker substrate....

Substrate and background were the same before.

I'm looking for something that has changed more then something I could change. They were pretty before on the same sand, I've always had sand with them.

you had more plants before.the pbass could be pushing them around also. my gars were always on the bottom when i had them with pbass and aros.

the darker bottom will darken them up.

Thanks, the peacock bass went in last week, they have been this way for it looks like 6 months by pictures.

I removed the wood, its soft to the touch. So I am betting it is not hard wood. I'm going to leave it out awhile and do some larger then normal water changes. Maybe thats the problem.
