I'm sure this has been asked before I just wanna make sure it could, don't worry I have a huge tank to house these guys down the road.. But I was just wondering because I have a black aro that I could get right now and I wanted to make sure they are compatible.. I have my ln gar in a 75g growout and he's about to hit 10" and the aro is about 6" would this work?

depends on the gar type and the aro should be bigger then the gar...i have a 15" silver and a 10" florida and there good together...sometimes the aro gets a bug up it's #%$ and attacks everyone in the tank more so the gar but that only happens once and a great while but for your situation it should work as the aro will grow faster then the gar but bigger aro to start is the way to go.

no problem and it shouldn't take long i got my silver in march and it is now 15" and i have had my gar for a month or so and its put on 1-1.5" gl with the fishes...what kinda gar you got? if it is a gator don't do it the gator WILL out grow it and more then likly eat the aro...smaller gars SHOULD be ok...people do say that gars and silver fish don't mix but mine is doin great i have tinfoils, balas, silver aro, jd, silver chubs and thats ALOT of silver fish mixed with a fish that has "issuses" with silver fish...but it also depends on the gars personallity so be prepard to seperate if need be

i dont think you should do that for the sole reason that the aro is really small at 6".i dont think the aro will be able to protect itself at all at that size. you should grow the aro out for another month and it might be 8" by then and then try to introdue it with the gar.at this moment its a big risk.
