Gar With Arowana?

Do you think a gar would go good with my silver arowana, Not now because he is only 3" but in the near future, when my aro is possibly bigger, and what type of gar I was thinking a spotted gar or a alligator gar, possibly a needlenose gar. Thanks for your information btw. Justin.

yes it will work go with either a florida or spotted gar growth rates are comparable so are temperament, Tropical gar are the other safeish bet... alli wud mash up ur aro... needlenose anit a real gar.... cubans are to rare, sweet and may work...

generally not a very good combo, aros tend to bully gars and send them smashing into the tank walls, it'll be nice if you read up on some past threads...

It works for me.. Though i agree.. Arows can be bullies... Mine hasn't slammed my Gar in the time that I've owned them.. But has nipped

Arow is over 22 inches that it measured a few months ago.

Yea I just found out that true gars are illegal in california, probly due to people putting them in our rivers and whatnot. Maybe I can catch one hahahah.

actually, i've not read too many cases of brokeback gars with aros too, and more often than not, it's succeded...HOWEVER, there are cases of brokeback gars thanks to aros, and i feel that every brokeback gar is one too many...but in the end, it's your call.
