Gar With Fin Rot?

My 15" Florida Gar's front right fin is starting to fray out or deteriorate. It's not severe, but I would like to stop it before it gets bad. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get rid of it I would appreciate it. I've been using salt and my temp is around 80-82.

i would put a tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons (pre mixed). It may not be fin rot though. are there other fish in the tank?

BTW...The noob that i was refering to was myself. I was a member for about a month when i made that thread.
