I really want to get a Gar,but i have a Jardini Aro,the Aro seems peaceful(although i had to get rid of my Pacu, the Aro hated it).My Jar lives peacefully with my Catfish and has been for monthes,i am wondering if this could work out or if it is a disaster in the making, has anyone ever head of this combo??Thanks.:nilly:

i wouldn't recommend a gar with a jardini.
jardini probably wouldn't kill it, i just to recommend it lol.

I don't know but it could be risky.

not a good combo by any stretch...the gar and jar will inevitably cause problems for each other and likely need to be separated (or the jar may kill the gar/drive it to breaking its back). several people have tried this combo and none i know of have made it work...it's just not worth it, and definitely not fair to the fishes involved--

Point well taken.:headbang2

I'd stick with bottom dwellers like the cat, some jardini won't tolerate any tankmates, if yours allows the cat consider yourself lucky.

Ckeck this out....20inch Leichardti and 12inch gator together in a 180g but will move into a 260g this week. They also live with a 18inch Pentenia.
The leichardti is used to having tank mates and is quite subdued toward the toothy gar. They larger tank will provide more swimmimg space for them both. The gar will move into a 500g early next year and an outdoor pond after that.
