anyone ever have a gar that tryed to eat something to big and the sides of the lower jaw rip open?

No. Did it end up swallowing it or spitting it out? If so then it should heal assuming the jaw itself didn't break.

im not really sure if he spit it out, when ever hes eatin somthing i can see it threw sides on his bottom jaw

if the jaw hinges are still in place it will be fine. iv sadly had stuff like this happen(gar tried for anothers food). it will heal just fine

ya he still eats fine, ill try seeing if he likes anything else to eat other than feeders and shrimp, hes very picky lol
