After the fail of my outdoor pond I was left with a 10x10 liner and a 550 gph pump. The liner is 20 mil PVC I think but is hole free. I was thinking of a 4x4x2 pond. It will be made from a 2x12. I'll use 2.5 inch decking screws and 2 angle brackets per corner. My only concern is that the pine is soft and will allow the screws to be ripped out when it's filled. Also will a piece of 1/4 inch chip board make a decent bottom. I'm either going to stock it with a bullhead catfish or comet goldfish. Would a bullhead fit in the pond and what tank mates can he have?
Thanks

I would think that'd be more than enough for a 8-12" fish. And anything it can't eat would work, although you may be better off trying other natives because I'm not sure how they can handle tropical fish temps. I have mine at room temp and he's extremely active once the light go out.

I caught mine while fishing. I was flipping rocks for crayfish and found him. He lives in a 20 gallon with a common snapping turtle. Lots of hiding places plus he's active at night when the turtle crawls out of the water to sleep. I'm going to he moving him to his own tank soon though as he's starting to get a little big for his hide outs, he's about 4 inches. Eventually I'm going to put him in a pond with my long ear sunfish.

I think there would be a chance so getting decently think linear could be a good idea but I dnt think it'd be likely for him to puncture it because they use them defensively. So it's not like it will being going and just jabbing the linear with it's barbs. But I've never kept a bullhead in a pond with linear before so don't take my word for it.

Well see what your saying after the game. That be great if you could sell some bullheads. I'm actually in nc right now but I get up to sc pretty often so I could pick one up sometime. Are you in Columbia?
