Ok I'm turning half our garage into a fish room, but I'm worried about the late fall/winter months. Is there any cheap way to insulate and heat a garage fish room because I don't think the heaters will be able to keep up when the temp out is low and the temp in the garage isn't much higher. Any and all input greatly appreciated.

My fishroom was in my garage in Sacramento, CA - much milder winters than your neck of the woods, I believe.
I built a room inside the garage using 4'x8' sheets of styro (including the ceiling). I used a space heater on a thermostat and it worked pretty well. I took the styro down in the spring / summer...
Insulated garage doors are another option but more expensive...
