So, have very limited space for tank in my house, and want to try and make a mini fishroom in part of my garage. I live in Las Vegas, so it is hot. However, I am not looking to insulate the whole garage. I have heard some people insulating the door, and that I could do. I'd have to run some form of cooling throughout the summer, but would it be possible? Thanks

My main fish room is my entire garage. Walls and doors insulated but i live in VA and our temps stay pretty mild. Never had any issues with mine

Tropical fish should be okay as long as you cool the garage during very long stretches of hot. You could also use foam insulating boards around and under the aquariums to keep the temperature more even. I would suggest filling up a small aquarium full of water and watch the temperature. You could try different methods of insulating and cooling and see which one keeps the water temperature most stable without risking the lives of any fish or spending extra money on chillers if you don't need them.

Hello; Can you give us some more information? Such as is the garage attached to the house? Is it a basement garage? What are the garage walls made of and is there any sort of insulation already in these walls? These are just example questions so feel free to mention anything you think is important.
The short answer is yes a garage can be a fish room if you have the money to spend.
I insulated my basement garage doors right after I moved in to my current house. Not for a fish room but because they were just metal shells and I knew I would lose a lot of heat in the winter. You will have the opposite excess heat issue but insulation works both ways.
