Garnet sand size

Im gonna order some and test it out in the 75 gal what size should i get ?

You guys think 25lbs will be enough ?

Hao Hao you remember the size of your sand.

1 mm= .039 inch. if you have calipers, they can give you an idea of what that size is. Very generally speaking, standard paper is about .003 thick. So 12 pieces of paper together may give you an idea of 1mm thickness. Regardless of grain size, I don't think 25 lb would barely cover the bottom of a standard 75.

Thx man good suggestions. I went through some old emails and when i order the red flint sand i went with .45-.55 so i went with the same for the garnet.

Will post pics when it arrives
 
Forgot to mention its really only to see how much i like the look but the min order is 50lbs anyway so went with that
