Garnet sand

So my next project after I get the plat endli is to get garnet sand finally lol ... So my question is what grit size will I need ? I don't want sand that is so fine it stirs up real bad and gets in the filters .... I don't really no much about grit size lol is 80-100 grit fine or heavier than 20-40 grit?

i'm using 20-40grit garnet sand on my rays and bichirs. Ive tried other samples sent to me but it seems this grit is the perfect size for my needs.

DONT GET 80-100grit!! That stuff is like powder! Annoyed me so much! Mine is like 16 grit which I think is the best.

I think the number is not how they size the garnet. If you can get some samples, you'll be on better position to determine what will meet your requirement.

The number has to do with how fine a mesh it can pass through, higher # = finer mesh
