How many pounds of garnet blasting sand to cover a 100 gallon (5ft by 2ft) aquarium...about 1/2 to 1 inch for bichirs.

i'd get 100 to be at a safe starting point, better to have more when you're setting up instead of having to go get more.

I have 55lbs in a 5’x3’ 230gal… its around 1/2” so id say 55lbs minimum. If u like a heavier substrate most def. Go with 100-110lbs. They do clear spots down to bare bottom in my setup. It is eventually re covered tho also as they move around.

Agreed. About 50-60 pound should do for what you need
