gars food

Most gars can be converted to accepting them it just may take a while. Mine are beginning to show more interest in pellets that sink to the bottom of the tanks

There is no such thing as a gar that will not take prepared feed items... Especially a Gator (They could just be Garbage disposals)...

It just takes persistence and patience in doing so..

i saw a YouTube video that said gars definitely do NOT take pellets, at least that's what it said in the title...i didn't bother watching the video though...

Why do alligator gars/florida gars dont eat prepared food?

Juvenile gars from 3inch to 6/7inch shud be offered feeders buffet if possible to beef them faster.
After which, u can train them to take pellets or market prawn by starving them.
Remember to net out the unfinish food daily.
Alligator gar is the easiet to train but florida gar shudn't take too long to accept prepared food also. I would say max 1wk of starving and you will see results.

Why is it necessary to starve the fish?
