gars good tankmates, maybe not

my long nose just took a bite at my yepezi's tail!! wtf!!! ive had the gar like 7 yrs and have never sen this behavior, is this what goes on at night, well i know for sure i'm doing a night time operation, called longnose gar in the trashbag!!!!! this might be the reason my male retic is not eating or just being sluggish!

how big is the gar? and how big is the ray? btw i would love to see some pics of the yepzi.. also whered you get him from..hope the gar dosnt do any damage
 
18" gar, 4" disc yepezi, the gar is gone, now i have the lights out, because i went aligator hunting and my rays are a tad scared! CRIKEES!!!

ya that gar was pretty big for the 4"yepezi...got any pics love to see um...
 
Sorry for your bad luck, but that is a big gar to have with such little rays. This is the first time I have heard of gars attacking rays.
 
Big fish eat little fish. That's why we use minnows for bait.

Try a geophagus or something more laid back as a more suitable tankmate.
