Could this work? im getting a huge tank and i have always loved gars and pbass and i am growing out a longnose, he is about 5" and i have a chance to get some pbass really cheap at 2" that i would growout till they could live with the gar so they would be eaten, but would this work?

I am also purchasing two f/s gars and 1 royal clown knife as tank mates.

And the tank size in the future will be 8'x3'x2wide

I'm not going to support the idea, but it could work i guess. None of the listed tankmates sound that great to me though. I think the P bass would outfeed the gar at feeding time.

Also...I would make the tank 3' wide not 2' wide. That would be much more suitable for an adult longnose.

should be no problems.
but you have to make sure gars get food cause pbass will definitely be the first to chow down.

all gars are tough, but all species considered longnoses tend to be the 'wimpy' species of the bunch and can be much more fragile structurally speaking. i wouldn't be as concerned with Florida gars with pbass (especially since they tend to live together now that we're stuck with pbass in Florida) or other gar species, but longnoses can be easily picked on and no gar is really good at defending itself.

therefore the pbass longnose combo is inadvisable...and is bound to have some problems once the two species are put together. i would stick with Florida/spotted as they are more durable and could feasibly survive the relatively ill-advised combo; good luck--
