gas bubble disease

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's not a disease despite the name conceiving it as a misconception. I need to know your tank size, tankmates, temperature, water parameters and tank maintenance. All five variables are extremely relevant. Usually gas bubble disease is caused by oversaturation of air in the water. The only way to rectify this issue is by lowering the temperature by a few degrees and turn on all airpumps.

hi my tank is 300g and the temperature is usually 84-86 degrees. i have an arowana, 3 datnoids (1 is like 8 inch and other 2 is about 6.), a 5inch common pleco, 8 inch rtgg and thats about it.

i been doing a WC of 55 gallons 2 times a week.

should i do more WC or less?

How long has this issue been ongoing? Do your filters create a lot of surface movements? I'd lower the temperature to at least 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Its tough over here in cali to get our tanks to 80. The weather like this all of my tanks are steady 86* without heaters!
