Gate valve metal bolts safe 4 reef?

Just wondering if the bolts have any contact with the water inside the valve, my skimmer is modded and the gate valve is above the surface of the water.

If the metal bolt contacts the water at any point, it will end up putting metal in the water and killing off coral.

The gate valve is above the water level but I was scared that the bolt would have contact with the water within the valve (I was already told it doesn't ).
