I have a young GATF. He runs in to the glass a lot and I've notice that his mouth is really. Busted. How can I prevent this? And does the mouth heal by its self over time.

You need to "black out" the back and sides of the tank. This will allow the atf to "see" the end of the tank. Anything will do, paper, plastic etc.

If your tank is deck out with decorations this could be a problem in the near future. They're easy spook and will run in things and scratch them self up. My gatf had a busted lip from facing the tank wall and Rapidly swim full throttle rubbing his mouth against It. If you can get a few more because their schooling fish. Put other fishes to calm him and mix with so he won't be so Scared.

I wouldn't get any more. i kept 5 Vittatus together and they just attacked each other.

I would put other "dither" fish with it though, I cuuently keep mine with angelfish and metynnis (Silver dollar relative).
