gatf group update

well my gatf group failed. i have seperated them, but the smaller one is on the recovery road. i think my gars getting past the divider cause the first attack on the smaller one witch then upset the balence of the trio. so atleast for me the gatf group dreams are done. i will be keeping my largest gatf and selling the other 2.

any thoughts on how much a 5" gatf is worth? i got them smaller at $150 here.

well the little one is all healed up now, just has some fin and scale damage to fine tune. i decided to try again with the other two not being seperated and showing no more aggression. that combined with the lfs only able to give me $70 each i decided it was worth another shot. added some cover to see if that will help.
 
Glad the little guy is ok. I've been following your threads for a while now, you're really making me want to go from natives to toothy silvery predatory type fishes. ;)

it is all better and doing great. i have some of both natives and silver toothy. i would recommend both! one way you could optimize your native toothy section is to look into gars and bowfins....

so far all is back to normal. they just hang out with the occasional lunge/nip. i think the gar may have upset the balance when it got past the divider. they have been moved to a different tank so we will see if this proves right. i was hoping to get some vatf, but i ended up with all goliaths.
 
i wont be! i was thinking about your group when i walked up to the tank and saw the little one beaten up. i think it was the gars getting past the divider that caused the upset. i have been monitoring them constantly and there have been 100% no aggression from any of the gatf. they seem to be acting like nothing is out of sorts. i will be keeping a close eye on them. i'll have to do a vid update on them soon, the biggest one is growing WAY WAY faster then expected!

that one has tripled or even quadrupled in size since i got it. i'll have to get some rosies and put them in with them to give the size diff from when i got them. i have pics of them with rosies the day i got them.
