GATF in a pond?

i hear they are hard to keep alive after 20" in aquarium. just thinking if they would do better in a pond. maybe grow to full size. i was thinking of above ground pool http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intex-18-x-...237?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35d9666595
with some big pumps to make water movement to try and simulate river. heated of coarse

Only fill it to 30", still a ton of space and will help keep it in if it jumps

Well, more room us always better for these, even though I wouldn't consider what you're doing a pond.

As others have said, if you keep it covered and heated, your fish will likely thrive.
