Lost Wages
Bought two GATF's from Aquascapeonline last month and everything was going fine in the 150 for about 30 days.
Shortly after they started nipping each other I made the move to separate them.

Once moved into the new tank the larger one of the two jumped out and landed on the floor before I could get the lid closed.
About two hours later he was done.

Established tank, no tankmates,
Just jumped out and I guess they are not all that hardy when they are young.
I had a friend tell me its quite common for them to die after a jump out.

Its also a high tank and a concrete floor:irked:

Oh well.
I still have the other and the jumper is in the freezer.
I may throw a photo up when I get home.

sorry for your loss. how big was the one that jumped out

He was about 5" and just started to get the red tips on the tail.
I will post a photo to the thread later.

I paid $150 for him.
Oh well I still have one so hopefully that one gets to a stable size.
According to a friend the small ones don't do well after a jump out. I don't really have any way to confirm that but as stated it was about a 60" fall to concrete.

Sorry to hear. I had my juvie GATF in my freezer for awhile cause I just couldn't not justify throwing him away. Then one day I feed him as an expensive feeder to my Lucifer. haha.

Sorry for your lost, and yes they are very, very fragile fish. It's funny how the Armatus and GAFT are some of the largest fish loaded with some serious hardware in their mouth, yet they are some of the most skiddish fish ever, even at larger sizes. WEIRD..:screwy:
