Gatf of feeders??

it took two months of starvation, persistence and teacher fish to break my gatf. I would starve the fish for about two weeks at a time while introducing various non live foods. After a while he would start looking at food on top really close. When he started looking it wasn't long before he made his first swipe at a freeze dried krill. Once he made that first swipe, I knew that he saw the krill as food items and at that point he got no more live feeders.

Now that he's broken, he won't take anything BUT pellets. I had some stubborn fish after him that took feeders only, and the feeders were completely safe in the vicinity of the goliath. Eating pellets made him lazy! lol Its impossible to overstate the importance of teacher fish here. If my gatf wasn't watching other fish, I don't know if he ever would have figured it out.

I have two tinfoils with him that love pellets and bloodworms and they eat infront of him all the time I thought monkey see monkey do but he still just swims around and doesn't pay any attention to them I was planning to get a vatf also should I wait till I get the vaft to start

Like I said, I would make my guy wait for two weeks at a time between offering two or three feeders. Going for a few days at a time just wasn't enough stress to cause him to change his behavior patterns. It took almost two months of this before he started noticing the tarpon eating pellets and krill and paying attention to it.

I would wait to introduce the vatf until the goliath is broken. I tried that and my gatf killed the vatf and ate the back 1/3rd of it. My gatf killed a ridiculous amount of fish before I broke him. Now that he doesn't seem to consider fish to be food anymore, he's mellow and sociable.
