Hi guys,

So have a few questions before asking the main one:

Whats the growth rate on GATF or VATF?
Why do I hear people lose these fish easily (death easy?) and not many have good size ones? are they really hard to raise?

So I have a 6.5x30x26 and tankmate is HBRTG 14inch, odoe pike 8, FF 8-9inch, clown loach (range from 5-10inch), 2 bichirs (8-9 inch).
What will I need the GATF/VATF size before putting in tank with the others ? and will it work?

Thanks,
Swarsh

well, the odoe pike is going to probably be its biggest enemy. i'd want at least an 8-10in GATF or VATF in a tank like that.

raising isnt too bad, if you doing weekly waterchanges and keep the tank realy clean you should be ok. I think the reason theres not alot of people that haves them cuz the normaly prices really high and end up dieing since its harder to get them off of feeders when there little, they normaly wont look at frozzen foods intill there larger. the bichirs could eat him and you would need a large one to be ok with the pike. there are larger ones out there but just be ready to pay the money. look at (stones aquarium) but my goliath was at 3 inches and grew to 5 to 6 inches in the next 2 months. Idk about others but mine dosent move alot, like a barracuda and just sits and waits for food to get droped in. If you do get a small one you might wanna get a solo tank and wait for him to get mass on him befor adding him. but I love mine tho.

O and I do about 20% water changes 2x aweek.

Oh I see, Well I can pick one up for £65 (GATF) not sure about the size but im guessing its going to be around 3-4 inch, is that a good price?

So I will have to feed him feeders till he gets bigger? what about morio worms? will that work?

Thanks,
Swarsh

Idk how much that is in the UK. the US I got mine for $210 and it was even on sale, normaly there worth more. mines from aquascapeonline. but you could give him that, I was just saying its a pain trying to get him to eat frozen when there little. It can be done but its just alot easyer when there bigger.

Hmm seems like it's a good price then, and I'll probably raise him by himself in my 3 ft grow out!
I don't really feed frozen and only live is morio worms... Will that be ok instead of feeders ?

Thanks

It might take some time for him to get in the habbit but once there hungery, theyll eat almost anything. just make sure its the fish your looking for, alot of people have trouble IDing them. and gettimg them at 3inches is really hard to tell what kind of tiger it is, so make sure the seller has his **** straight if you know what I mean, its alot of money to be getting the wrong fish. Mine at 3 inches was all silver and looked alot like a pike or one of those freshwater barracudas but with alittle red on the bottom of his fin. but he had the teeth tho for sure.
