Hey guys been reading up on the Goliath African Tiger Fish, and just curious what these guys max out in captivity?? I can see they get huge in the wild.... but NOTHING gets as large in home aquarium as it does in the wild.

Also is it absurd to think of rays as a tankmate with a solo GATF? If so what have you guys had success keeping with your tiger fish?

Thanks for any responses. And as far as housing sort of depends how large they get in captivity.

I've seen them with rays and haven't heard anything too bad happening. There are more things to worry about like the small lake you will need to keep one for life.

I think a 10'x4' tank will be ok for a fish that at biggest will get 30"... only going to be it and maybe 2 rays... unless someone chimes in and lets me know what else I can keep with him... would really like payara...

Mines about 8" keep him with assorted different fish. As long as there bigger then 3" he wont try to eat them. Other then that I rate him as peaceful fish keeps to himself never bothers anyone. But will attack and eat anything 3" or less at his current size. I imagine as he gets bigger he will be capable of eating bigger fish.
