Someone complained there are big fish found in pools of various parks in HK and they are afraid that these fish would pose threats to children playing in the parks. Those big fish are gator gar released by people who could not accommodate them anymore. The government panicked and vowed to remove all of them from the parks. The problem is that they lack the knowledge of this species and mistreated them. I read in the newspaper they caught a 1 metre gar and the workers covered the container entirely without leaving any space between the water surface and the cover. We all know gars have to rise to the surface to breath but they don't. That gar died in one hour after it was caught. They are still speculating the cause of the death. I hope someone will tell them the reason why it died so that they can avoid making the same mistake when catching the others.
