Can the GE Silicone 2 black silicone sealant be used in my aquarium? I am mainly going to use it for the front overflow covers and some to hold some decorations in place.

Thanks!

Yes if the tube you have does not say bioseal or mildew resistant.
Silicone 2 is not as strong as silicone 1 but should be fine for what you are doing.

to hold decorations in place yes, to seal aquarium no, don't do the same mistake i did

you should look into aquarium safe adhesives by "dap" 100% silicone clear and is "aquarium safe..Stinks like **** but getsthe job done, but only for decorations..

I already used a couple tubes in my aquarium of GE Silicone 2 black but I made sure it didn't have any mold & mildew inhibitors.

Help please! I did use the Ge Silicone 2 and it does say in small letteres "provides mold free protection." I didn't use it for any major seals but I need to know if I have to remove this. It is the Ge Silicone 2 (black) for WINDOWS/DOOR/ATTIC/BASEMENT not the Kitchen and Bath version which I heard has mold inhibitors.

You were warned not to use it.
