GE Silicone II... Safe?

I figured I'd ask you guys here, since there is a lot of DIY involved in keeping monster fish.
I have a tube and want to make some caves and a partial background for my tank. I am planning on using Great Stuff Foam(window&door), then carving it, covering it in silicone, and sticking my substrate to the silicone. Then I would silicone it to the back of the tank. I have GE II Silicone, and heard that it can harm the fish from 1 person while I was searching threads, but the majority says it's okay once fully cured.
Something about the breakdown of the "BioSeal" was what the person who said that it could harm the fish was saying.

if it has the bio-seal do not use it, it is toxic to fish.

i dont see anything about bioseal on the bottle.
but i did just see that the expiration date has passed. im going to get a bottle of GEI, better idea?

Dunno much... but i suggest u use the silicon that lfs uses to make tanks...

i havent seen GE 2 without bioseal,use GE 1 dont take the risk (and GE 1 is much cheaper)

GE I & II are the same price here.

Like dmopar74 said as long as it doesn't say Bio-Seal (the window and door stuff) your good to go.

i use regular Rtv silicone that I fill holes with on the job and never had a problem..

I have used GE Silicone II w/Bio-Seal on caves and backgrounds. They have been in a number of tanks for a while with no ill effects. The fish continue to eat and spawn without missing a beat.

I will have to look into the concerns though.

i was looking at homedepot today and the only GE 1 they had was the window and door stuff which says "not for aquarium use" ?

however i turned around and on the wall-o-superglue there were tubes of DAP stuff made just for aquariums.. it has a lil picture of a fish on it and everything....? id never seen or heard of it before.. but i got some for the w/d (20 long) im building.. we will see how it goes
