Gender Heros Curare Help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They both look male to me.

It’s possible the second fish is female with the lesser patterning on the face and around the eyes, but you won’t really know unless they decide to spawn. The facial patterning on my females was always more faint than the males, while the males always had very dark maroon or nearly black markings on the gills and face. The female patterning would fade during spawning. Both fish shown here have the bold, dark markings that my males exhibited.

I purchased mine as wild caught adults. I’m not sure how old they were. I am pretty sure that F1 were breeding at 18 - 24 months of age.

Thanks for share your info. I was pictured theese 2 fishes Because the smaller one ( female on my point of view ) hold half of tank and rest of fishes are on another part of tank. ( Its quite offensive one for the smallest fish in group ) Only one fish Wich respect there is that biggest male ( on first picture) and Sometimes pushing them second biggest dominant fish. Still i am not sure If Its pair Or not, Thats Why i ask for Gender. Still i see different shape of body and lenght and colour on lower fins are more Red dominant fishes have them black. I am not sure about behaviour And markings Because theese fishes are quite special from others Wich i was breed in past. :)
