Gender of Oscars

Hi how can i know the gender of an Oscar fish Astronotus ocellatus. I don't have any idea on how to determine them. And pls provide some pics on determining hier gender... Thanks a lot.

there is no way of sexing an oscar by looking at it, the only way to sex an oscar is through a method called venting, it's a process with buckets, i'm not exactly sure how to do it, you could get the info off google though.

Even venting isn't 100% accurate with oscars. The one that lays eggs is female and if they hatch the other is a male. It is not uncommon for 2 females to breed. Of course no fry will hatch.

the only way to tell an oscars sex is during spawning but it is still hard then

well i have two oscars and one has an oviposter and the other doesnt.thats how i tell
