Now that I've been looking at more fish and other fish I've kept previously and enjoyed, I have more questions.
1). Can I safely keep a few African Butterflyfish with an Ery ery and/or a Pink tailed chalceus? Would the chalceus be okay with the Ery ery?

2). Alternatively, if I wanted to get an aro, would growing out a Jar or Lei in a 75 be better or would I be better off just getting a 125-150?

Thanks in advance!

Cant answer number 1...but #2 bigger tank always bigger. 125g or 150g are not much different. From 125g to 180g is much better.

A pink tail would be ssfer than an ery with african butterflies. But make sure they get food. My pink tail ears so fast i have to hand feed the knives in there with him

butterfly fish are spooked easily and jump A LOT. So I'd say no go with either tank mate. Don't know about those two together though.

Go bigger with the tank.

The pink tail Chalceus should be fine but will need to be big. The red wolf can be small and as it grows will accept it as a tankmate. Do not feed love fish.

As far as the butterfly fish. It probably will get picked on cause it lies motionless at the top of the water. Can use floating plants to hide the butterfly fish but it's risky. Also any floating food at the top and a ery ery may result in interest to the butterfly fish.

So yes to the pinky tail Chalceus and no to the butterfly fish.

Jardini or lei will need a bigger tank. Not good to mix an ery ery with these fish as well.

Ery will most definitely go for the Pantodons. And while some may not consider it too much of a loss, you're risking your Ery too. I lost a Polypterus that choked on one, so I will never mix them with anything that would even LOOK at them. ;)
