Okay. I rearranged my stock today to try and handle some aggression issues. My breeding pair of carpintis,, male about 6" and female about 5" wound up in a private 55g. My question is this.. Provided that I keep up on water changes to keep specs good,, will I be a douche to keep the pair in a 55 for life?

I'd try to do bigger.

Males can reach 10-12" and I have a female H. carpintis "Escondido" who's getting close to 8".

Well crap. They're stuck in the 55 until feb. I'll buy another big tank after that I guess. I'm pretty good at keeping water within spec which I'll do until then. I was going to leave them the 125 for themselves,, but I've still got dovii in there and nobody was happy.

On a side note,, my firemouths were beating up on my HRP's in the 55 now occupied by the carpintis. Now the firemouths are making friends with my dovii.
