3 days ago I bought home 2 iridescent sharks. One 12" and one 10". These guys have not eaten anything. I know it would be common for newly introduced fish to not eat due to stress of new surroundings but at what point do I say something is wrong? Water quality is great, right on the mark it needs to be at for them. I've tried pellets and wafers but their not interested. Sometimes they attempt to see what I dropped but most times they couldn't care less. I'm also not sure how long I should leave the uneaten food in the tank before I should clean it up? Thank for your help-Amber

try a live food.. worms? shrimp.? that usually works to get them going.. one they start eating that they'll go for there staple as well..pellets wafers etc..

could be stress related due to a new home and moving and such. mine sometimes goes off food for a few days every now and a again, but will eventually come back to eating. i hope you did your homework, they grow big. :)

Took them about 5 days before they ate. Now that I've had them for 2 months they eat like pigs. Probably 10 pellets each 2x a day. They devoure food right away so now I know when they are done eating and I don't have any wasted food in the tank.
I know what I got myself into size wise. I recently bought them a 150g that they are really really comfortable in. It's only a grow out. Soon I will have an indoor pond in the basement for them and the big pleco I recently rescued.

good to hear, sadly most cases (mine when i was younger), the lfs tell customers to buy them and they'll only grow to 6inches or so and leave you high and dry when you find out your fish will get massive and they won't take it back despite blatant lying.
i've now had mine for... i can't even guess, but she's 7 years at least and sitting just shy of 2 feet.
they definitely go on hunger strikes now and again, but always round back and start devouring like no tomorrow.
only other downside is those damned fin spines. nailed me good one day, straight through the thumb. definitely worth being careful around.

glad to hear yours are eating. how's their temperaments? i've heard of monsters who kill anything in the tank, and gentle giants.
luckily, mine is a gentle giant, has never eaten another tank mate or killed one, despite having had her with tetras and other small fish when she was 8" inches.

Glad they started eating. I was going to suggest they were sick before I saw your follow up post (has happened to me before)
