hey guys so i getting a wide and long 125 gallon and imma be getting a solo male jag and raising from like half a inch and just wanted some tips ass my biggest tank/project is a 55 gall with a green terror

I brought up 3 jags in a 75 with silver dollars and clown loaches. Hardy fish, and an opportunist feeder. I think I have a pair that I moved to the big tank, and the runt went into the sons tank. Nothing too fancy with water parameters, as long as you keep up on water changes life should be good. Mine ate flake and shrimp pellets early on, now I supplement with shrimp, algae wafers and earthworms to give them a mixed diet.

They are easy fish to keep as long as you give them enough room, they like a bit higher and harder pH than GT's but are adaptable. I would grow it out in a smaller tank, a single half-inch fish in a 125 gallon will probably be too shy to ever see, and won't eat well in my experience. The fish will eventually need to be solo in the 125, but you could try some dithers while it is growing to get it to feel more comfortable. They are piscivores so anything elongated will be eaten quickly, I might try a few convicts that are smaller than the jag (of one sex, don't want them breeding). If you have any specific questions, ask away.

yeah so i have a 37 gallon tall would this be ok to grow him out in with the convicts?
and what size would he need to move out of that tank

i was thinking of bying like six and then keeping the best male or keeping a breeding pair
