Genus identification

Is the caudal a good way to differentiate between Mastecembelus and Macrognathus sp?

Nobody knows? I've just noticed that some spiny eels have the very small separate tail fin and I've noticed this in Macrognathus sp. I guess I was just wondering if this was a way to tell between the 2 genus' mentioned or if size/age has something to do with it. Like maybe only juvenile eels have them.

Any help would be appreciated.
