Title says it all. I'm getting conflicting answers from different places.

Some of the older literature suggests Cichlasoma, but I believe it's been categorized as Amphilophus for a while now.

Cichlasoma trimaculatum. That are not Ampliophus anymore, they were changed back.

I noticed that too, I guess the Trimac not unlike the Festae will be bounced around for a while until like Salvini it either gets its own genus or is settled into an existing one. Cichlisoma is the "I'm not sure where it belongs, so let's put it here for now" genus. They're not calling it Amphilophus any more and put it back into cichlisoma so maybe "they" are working on it. Who knows where it will end up. My guess would be it will get its own genus until someone comes along and changes things again. The only thing that's for sure is nothing is for sure.

I agree, also noticed uropthalmus (another that has been in and out of Amphilophus, and if looks counted, might fit arguable well there) was conspicuously absent, and seems to (at least for now) be left in the Cichlasoma limbo.
