Geo Altifrons became a monster!

I cant believe it.. my Altifrons ( shiny fish in my gallery) turned vicious overnight..
almost killed the other geo ( fainted i revived it in another tank) and just now
saw it attacking my rays! I couldnt believe it!!! I thought geos and rays were a perfect match since geos are known to be docile.

Dont know what went wrong. I think its because i was feeding it blackworms for 1 week. It turned aggressive from eating live foods... :mad:
 
yeah, its in a crummy 30 g with a pleco and a beat up juvy silver aro..
I didnt want to do it as that Geo is my baby.. bought it real ugly at around 4 inches
and 3 mos later its about 8 with beautiful pearls and niceee red shiny streamers..

what a shame....

haha moved him to the detention tank.. and he attacks the juvy silver in there with him...i think its on crack!

wow i've never heard of an aggressive Geo. thats crazy
 
IME, Geo's do get aggressive.

I loved the altifrons I had, but they started beating on my juvie GT's, so I sold them, and now I'm happy with my GT male that also turns out to be crazy. It killed my prized super red sev, my prized 8" blue dempsey, and some amazing oscars I had.

My geos are relentless on themselves ensuring the pecking order is maintained. Plus they hold there own against the larger cichlids
