I want to know whats the growth rate on these guys? Also is it at all possible to sex them at this size (1-2")?

they are decent growers
maybe half an inch a month or so
i think max size i've seen was around 10" ... these guys were swimming in a reservoir in singapore... sifting through the fallen leaves in the water. trailers were past their tails... amazing.
i don't think you can sex them at that size

damn, there in my 210 with a single silver dollar
and they havnt grown at all...well atleast not much, well they need tank mates *caugh* tien *caugh* losli *cough*

but yeah, there really slow growers...

You won't be able to sex them til around 3.5-4"

Mine eat everything and it seems like it takes for ever to see any growth.

Do you know what river these come out of?

I'm trying to get my hands on Altifrons 'Rio Negro'

Very nice my LFS has some in at 4 for £10 gorgeus they are. They have quite a fast groth rate for geophagines. i know somone who had a 13" male and it was amazing but ti died.

I managed to get the altifrons out, into a bucket...waiting on a filter for that 55 for them to go in.
