Sorry, found googling a nightmare trying I.D. these guys.

Abalio, surinamensis, altifrons ??

Apparently, these are wild caught, but I do not know the location, as I have acquired them second hand.

Altifrons. I really like the last photo.

^ agreed, 100% G. altifrons. Going on total assumption here but with that much blue on the flanks it looks like allot of the 'Tocantins' varients I have seen in the past. Where did you get it?

EDIT: instead of answering the PM, I'll add why I think so in here for others to see, learn or correct me. ;)
The main reason I would argue 'Tocantins' as the varient is the heavy blue markings under the eye spreading down the muzzle. The spotting on the caudal fin appears to have larger spotting on the top of the caudal than the bottom, also a traight common of G. altifrons 'Tocantins'

OUtstanding info ! THanks guys.

They were originally sold through a Maidenhead Aquatics outlet in the UK, and to me via the bloke who bought them there.

Justin ... they certainly do have a lot of blue on the flanks. The photos do not do it justice. BTW, I did not PM you. Must have been someone else.

THanks so much again for your quick responses !

You didn't PM me, sorry I could have been more specific. I got a PM from another member asking why I thought 'Tocantins' so I figured I would add why in the thread instead of a PM so everyone can read. I gets old seeing poeple just post a species name and never why they think so. ;) you have BEAUTIFUL geos BTW..!

altifrons have a dot on them right?

Yes and no, a small to non-existent midlateral spot is one of the ways to ID an G. altifrons.
