Geo species ID purdy please

i got this as a "red head geo" from NE and i was just wondering if anyone can tell the sex and possibly a more specific species ID... someone mentioned possibly altifrons Rio Xingu??? either way he/she is awesome...my first earth eater...and im sure not my last

Wow-beautiful fish! I think it's what they call/used to call "geophagus surinamensis". But they've split those into 3 (?) groups so it gets confusing. Someone else will know a lot better. Gorgeous though!

wow that is one nice geo , doesnt look like an altifron or surinamensis because of the head shape, might be something else.

Hi Jamie... really beautiful geo.. which tank is he/she going in?? Going in with the sevs??? I can't wait to get my sev/geo tank going. Thanks for all your feedback re that project. Gonna be changing the substrate around to get rid of most of the ecocomplete and then it will be ready to add some geos to the community. Good luck with your beautiful fish. Cool thanks..should I be disapointed that I didn't end up with a redhead? Will the face still get red whenit grows some.. Right now its only about 3 inch.
