I am considering putting geos in a 75. Would that be big enough to keep a group of 4-6? The varieties I can find locally are g. juripari, brasiliensis, or maybe surimense. Forgive my spelling on the last one. I also have seen mention of g. tapajos and looked those up on net. Don't know if I can find any of those locally. Are there any other varieties out there might be good if I could find them?

Brasiliensis will be your best bet, but not in a group. Brasiliensis are only geos by name(supposed to be reclassified sooner or later) and do not need to be in groups like satanoperca and the geos you listed. A 75 will be too small for others, but can work for the tapajos if you find out they are obtainable. Personally I'd get a group of the brasiliensis and let a pair form then sell the rest of the group.

Brasiliensis is easier to find here. Surinamense is not as easy to come by. I think Brasiliensis might be cheaper too. I've had Juripari's before, I like the way they look but the colors of Surinamense is really nice. Brasiliensis would probably be good, too. Have to look at more pics on line to help me decide. That and availability, not much choice where I live unless I special order.

I kept juriparis in a community tank and they never bothered anything. I do like the way they look. They were one of my first cichlids.
