I've got two growouts in QT (a month going now) my zombie acara Felix, and my rainbow cichlid Pepper. Both show very nice growth as they're huge eaters and get fresh water every 2 days. In fact the rainbow is already near the same body height as the acara and a solid 3 1/2+ inches. So the question is this:
What are safe dimensions (height x thickness) that would work with an Oscar's maw? Those of you that have seen pics of BRICK know what I mean!
The Acara is probably a safe size now, but the rainbow I want to give more time since they trend smaller. In any case I'm in no hurry for them to join the main tank. Target date is by the end of the summer.
Right now Felix (acara) is a thick 4~5"
Pepper (rainbow) 3~4" and also thick
I want to get the rainbow large as possible, I read they get to 6" in the wild...a miracle I know but I'd settle for 5 and fat.
